Quality & OHS

Quality Management System

In 1995 APS sought affiliation to the title, “Quality Endorsed” company. After satisfying stringent requirements of an International Standard, we achieved our goal and gained the AS/NZS ISO9001:2015 accreditation for our National Service Centre.

Today, APS continue to strive to deliver the best possible service to our customers and as such we have continued to maintain certification at the National Service Centre to the Quality System AS/NZS ISO9001:2015.

Most importantly, it means that our business systems, practices and process can be applied to our national business and ensure that our clients can be assured that we can provide service in a manner that is reliably consistent, effective, deliverable and exceeds common quality systems.

It also gives us an opportunity to identify areas for improvement in the way we deliver our service and gives us a competitive edge over other recruitment companies.

Occupation Health & Safety

In 1998, APS became the first labour hire agency in Australia to be officially endorsed to SafetyMAP, an Occupational Health and Safety Management Program designed by the Victorian WorkCover Authority. SafetyMAP aimed to improve standards of health and safety in the workplace and ensure that we meet all OHS legislative requirements.

With the growth of APS nationally and the desire to continue to be at the forefront of OHS in the labour hire industry, a decision was made to transition our OHS system certification from SafetyMAP to an Australian nationally recognised OHS system known as AS4801:2001. APS achieved this goal for its National Service Centre, obtaining certification in 2006 - ensuring that APS can apply its OHS practices and policies on a national scale. Subsequently, APS successfully transitioned to ISO45001:2018 in 2022.

Our commitment to OHS has remained a key focus to ensure the health, safety and welfare of contractors and staff in the workplace.

As an employer, APS has a responsibility to protect the health, safety and welfare of all our employees, both internally and on site. We accomplish this by:

  • Providing new workers with a comprehensive induction process.
  • Continuously providing our workers with knowledge in the form of Tool Box talks, re-inductions, follow ups and newsletters.
  • Gaining clients' cooperation in our "Partnership in Safety Program" where they too assist in providing our workers with a safe working environment and support our OHS processes.
  • Having a dedicated OHS team and external consultants to focus on improving APS’ OHS processes.
